The Lake Washington PTSA Council, in conjunction with the Bellevue PTSA Council, would like to host a Joint Legislative Candidate Forum for the 45th and 48th districts running in this November’s election. This to include all of our legislative candidates running for the House of Representatives in order to help educate and inform our LWD and BSD communities around a variety of education-related topics and the standpoints each candidate holds regarding the issues.

Newport High School PTSA- Parent Teacher Student Association- an important part of Newport High School, located in beautiful Bellevue, Washington.  Newport High is part of school district #405.

By joining the PTSA, you are supporting students and teachers with your membership dues. By becoming involved with volunteering for school needs, and attending PTSA meetings parents can have a greater understanding of what opportunities NHS offers students. Each membership shows a true commitment and partnership to all of our students, families, volunteers, administration and staff in our community.

WSPTA's vision is that every child’s potential become a reality.  This cannot happen without members.  Members are the lifeblood of our PTSA as we focus this vision on the students at Newport High School.  

WSPTA's mission is that PTA is 

  • a powerful voice for children,
  • a relevant resource for families , schools and communities, and
  • an advocate for the well-being and education of all children.

PTSA FALL TEACHER GRANTS AWARDED
The PTSA vision is to make every child's potential a reality.  At Newport, the PTSA awards $40,000 in teacher grants for the 2016-17 school year to support this vision.  Approximately $25,000 is awarded in the Fall and another $15,000 in the Spring. The NHS PTSA Grant Committee reviewed and recommended the award of several teacher grants this week.  The Board of Directors reviewed these recommendations and awarded about $19,000.  An additional $6,000 may be awarded in the next few weeks pending requests for additional information from grant applicants.  The PTSA reviews applications from multiple departments and programs at Newport and ... read full article

CURRICULUM NIGHT - CLASSROOM BUCKS FOR TEACHER GRANTS
On curriculum night the PTSA holds an annual fundraiser to support the Teacher Grants its awards.  This year $40,000 is budgeted to support the grant program.  We need families to donate to the Classroom Bucks fundraiser to keep the grant program successful.  During the second period session on curriculum night, envelopes will be collected for all cash or check donations.  Please remember any employer matching funds to support the PTSA Classroom Bucks.   You do not need to wait for curriculum night on September 22nd.  Bring this form  with you to Curriculum Night OR pay via credit card here . ... read full article
